Have You Or Anyone You Know Had Problems With Blackstar Amped 2 100W Pedalboard Amp + FX ?

Ha well, if Blackstar having a solitary product that resembles an actual properly built valve amp gives them a pass to release any old bollocks then so be it.

I wouldn’t want to skew my perception of a company based on one product - Orange, Fender, Marshall, Mesa etc all make a range of products at different price points. The cheap Orange stuff is somewhat comparable to Blackstar but the majority of their other stuff is much more true to what you’d expect.

I don’t even have a grudge against Blackstar, I respect that they have their own niche in the market and have done something different. By all accounts they’re a nice company to work for too. But I don’t think it’s me just venting or piling on hate to say that most of their amps are built with massive compromises on cost and build quality in order to meet a price point. Lots of things that are cheap landfill fodder can still be fun.
Send me the landfill please. I’ll make sure to dispose of it properly!

Never was a fan of the 70/80 speakers if that’s what they were loaded with… no matter what badge they had. CB-65’s or EVH-GB’s have me happy all day long though!
this ones were both chinese V30’s but particularly bright/fizzy ones. I was so stoked thinking I found a budget friendly version of a mesa cab and these sounded SO different.

EVH GB’s are some of my favourite speakers ever, the others you mentioned are all great too

V-30’s seem to me to be hit or miss for me. A mid-90’s Marshall 4X12 was peak tone for me, Loads of low-end that made my bass player go WTF. And the high end was pretty sweet. Unlike what I hear nowadays. But I get that everyone hears things differently. In my likely top 5 of experiments gone wrong, I put a couple in a twin with unsuccessful results. The high end was harsh to me. But it was successful in the sense that it taught me a lot as far as trusting my ears, I suppose that is worth something, I just wish it hadn’t taken so long and that I had respected what I heard and felt sooner. My bottom line? ANYTHING that propels you toward playing more often is “great” gear.
