Seller's remorse -- not really. I mean, there are things I wish I had now but when I think about when/why I sold them it totally made sense and was worth it. And nothing has ever been irreplaceable.

Buyer's remorse. I don't even know where to begin on this one.

That is AMAZING. My wife is definitely the decorator in the house, but I’m tracking that down. I mean, it matches our other decor.

Regrets?
just a couple.

First is my engl 4x12. I was tired of moving that beast around but I'd love to have that cab back. I'd swap the v30 for greenbacks and use it for the right gigs and at home.
When I sold the cab I had a much smaller house, smaller car and I was experimenting with full digital rigs.
I had good reasons but selling was a mistake, even more so now, with today's crazy prices.

Second is another Engl product, a Powerball II with the full featured pedal.
I really loved that amp and still miss it even if I know that I won't use it that much, because marshall is my go to sound.
But it was keeper, is the kind of amp you should keep with you while waiting for the right band where to make it shine.

I've forgot my only one buyer remorse. Not the kind of remorse we're discussing here, maybe - but remorse nonetheless.

I bought a used Splawn Nitro, drove hundreds km to get it, paid cash and didn't do my homeworks good enough while testing it.

The amp had big auto oscillation problems once the volume was up enough, I didn't spot it at his place. While there, testing it at home volume it had a small feedback moment but I thought was just a normal feedback for an high gain amp like that. That was my mistake: I made assumptions while I should have test it deeper. Lesson Learned.

The amp also had an half/faulty switch on it's pedal, somenthing the seller didn't mention, that motherfucker.

First time I turned the amp volume up, at band rehearsals, it was feedback hell. Unusable. And the pedal, after few stomps, started acting up....motherfucker.

The seller screwed me big time, he knew it, I'm sure he did.

Tried to get money back but the seller refused to even talk about it. He told me "you tried it, you liked it".

Brought it to a good tech and he told me that spotting the issue takes time and time is not cheap.

Sold the amp as broken loosing a lot of money.

Seller's. Sold my Martin D28 that I'd had from new, owned about 8 years. Was just starting to really open up, and had a lovely b band pickup fitted. Thought I was done with playing so sold it on for about £1k. Can't believe how much they cost now

Only real regret was selling my first amp, a 50 watt Marshall JCM 800 4010 1x12 combo. At the time, I didn't know how to properly use a non master volume amp.

Buyer's remorse: a Jet City JCA20HV head that proved to be diametrically opposite to everything I'd heard about their amps and the company. It was a right Friday afternoon job, total piece of shit, and the UK part of Jet City just ghosted me. I should have been more hardnosed about it. Ended up spending almost the purchase price getting it sort out privately just so I could sell the fucking thing with a clear conscience. Doubt I played it for more than a total of 24 hours in all the time I had it.

Seller's remorse: two things. When I was a teenager I had an HM-2. I can only assume I sold it to buy something else, but I kinda wish I still had it. And same period my first "proper" electric guitar after an awful Kay catalogue 'Strat' was an all black HSS Squier Bullet. It wasn't a brilliant guitar, but I wish I still had it for romance/nostalgia reasons, but it went to fund the next one (LP Studio that I still have).

not really. i did miss my .50 cal to step back to a .22, but it wasnt remorse- just progression. i ultimately replaced it with a dr z i LOVED, and went back to a mark ii. no remorse there. i did regret trying c90s because theyre not great speakers for me, and i certainly dont regret offing the godawful v30s i traded them for as they were way worse... but i got them in a cab i bought... so not even traders remorse.

When I was a teen had a band mate with a jcm800 combo, I think it was a 2x12, and he was unable to make it sound good.....and as a solution he bought a boss metal zone and put it in front.

you can guess how good that was

My solution was to add a Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal pedal, then I sold it to fund an ADA MP1. I couldn't afford a decent power amp. Ended up using a POS no-name solid state amp that sounded like and would cut out mid gig due to overheating.

Eventually got it sorted when I saved up some cash and bought a Mesa Boogie 50/50 power amp.

I've regretted buying AND returning EVERYTHING that I bought, this year, alone

Guitars I do NOT regret keeping, (even though I haven't played them much recently): My PRS collection.

I started playing my other ones ALL the time, and haven't really played/gigged any of my PRS in a few years, BUT, one is currently in the shop for a fret level, I recently got an SS refret on another one of them, (I've been gigging that one), and I'm planning on gigging another one, tomorrow.

I definitely could NOT afford to buy any of them, these days, so I'm glad I kept them.

1 guitar I regret selling in the past is a rosewood-necked stoptail Custom 22. I had convinced myself, since I started, (thanks Lifeson, EVH, and Schon), that I NEEDED a vibrato on damn near every guitar, and now it's exactly the opposite, and I'd love to have that one back. It would probably be #1.

Thanks for sharing this -- I've been trying to figure out what the JCM800 variant was that I owned in the early 90s. This is definitely it.

My recollection of that amp was that it had way less gain than all of the JCM800 digital models. Sounded great with volume on blast. Also sounded great with a Boss Turbo Overdrive (OD-2). I remember bending down and manually switching from turbo off to turbo on for solos

I bought an Ernie Ball Axis that I regretted as soon as I pulled it out of the box and played it. The natural neck had dirt ground into it and the neck was way too thin for my taste. The guitar looked fantastic but I just couldn't get on with the neck. I did some research on how to clean the neck. I ended up using clear window cleaner on it and that worked well. You definitely don't want to use a blue window cleaner, unless you want your neck to have a blue tint to it.

I sold a 2010 Gibson Les Paul Standard that I still wish I had back. I was debating on gutting the electronics and input jack and making it more like older Les Paul guitars or selling it. I sold it. I wish I had kept it and redone the electronics. It had a PCB in it. I loved the way the guitar looked and played. It was one of the chambered guitars. It had an attack and bloom to the notes that was very nice. I remember the day I bought it. I plugged it straight into a Fender Twin Reverb and started playing. It had the sound I wish my 2010 Gibson Les Paul Traditional had. I talked a deal on the guitar and bought it.

I have a process I go through now when I decide to sell a guitar. I will put new strings on it and clean it up and make sure the setup is good then I put it back in the case and don't touch it for a couple of months. I can then sell it as long as I don't take it out of the case and play it. If I play with it, it will go back into storage. The last one I sold last year bothered me for a couple of months because I pulled it out and tuned it up to let a friend play it that was interested in buying it. I gave him a deal on it and he bought it. It was a Custom Shop Gibson ES-339 that I have had for years. It was from the first year they made them. I think I am finally past it a little over a year later.

Yes to both.

I miss a few guitars and amps I've sold over the years, but it probably doesn't qualify as remorse.

Biggest buyers remorse I've had was a fawn Marshall JMP 50w 2x12 combo that I bought off a guy in Hawaii. It shipped in a road case, but that didn't protect it from the massive fall that FedEx put it through.

Of course FedEx didn't pay the insurance claim, or for the repairs I needed to do to get the amp up and running again. I tried to make lemonade out of these lemons by converting it to a head so I could use it with different cabs, and it IS the Marshall I had been searching for, but it still grinds my gears...

Absolute BS, I also got shafted by them as well. Won't use them again tbh. Took a $1,000 hit as a seller.

I don't know if I've had remorse. I suppose. Kind of like others said, I miss a few amps I've sold.

I remorse not keeping certain amps that I shake my head when I see people paying ungodly amounts for like an MI Megalith or Rev 2 Uberschall for example.

The only amps that I truly miss and will likely reaquire are the Uber Ultra (definitely will reaquire) and a VHT 100CL.

I've been screwed on buying and selling alike but those are just bs issues and not really remorse.
