So I did a gig this weekend and used my GX-100 into my Fender TM Deluxe Reverb and it killed! I don’t even know why I did it, I have never used the GX for anything except going direct but I wanted to try it. So a few hours before the gig I plugged it all up, a few eq tweaks and I was like holy schinkey! Even the other guitar player was like dude, that thing sounds killer! I mean I already loved the thing for what I have been using it for but wow, what a cool device. Who knew?

How did you have it set up? Like a pedal board into a clean amp? Reason I ask is I have a deluxe reverb TM and if I just used the drive pedal sims it was fine for EOB or light distortion but anything else it just didn’t sound very good

The weird thing is I have tried it before like you said, just the pedal sims into a clean amp and I didn’t like it either. This time I ran it with the my standard British Plexi amp into the Ownhammer IR - the same patch that I always use when going direct. I had to knock the treble down quite a bit but after that it sounded great, and most of all it feels great. The amp of was running clean. I am definitely surprised and glad it tried it. A happy accident you might say. 😎

My signal chain is D-comp > wah > OD-1 > amp > cab IR > NS > Tremelo > eq > modulation > delay > reverb

I have the switching setup for a solo boost as well as turning effects on/off like a standard pedalboard.

Which one is the British plexi? I’m not surprised it sounded good at band volumes. I’ve been using the GT-1000 and GX-100 interchangeably for a while now and I have not been disappointed coming from the HX stuff previously.

Into this?

Using amp and cab sims? That's pretty cool. I've been seeing a few more folks (including John Cordy) having some success running a modeler into the front of a clean combo amp and still using IRs.
