We have an old mackie mixer. It sounds good but it is long in the tooth and we need a few more channels than what we have. We have wanted to record stuff for ages and having that capability on a mixer without having to add more outboard gear to setup time would be HUGE. I don't want to pay for it though
Cue the old "we'll just hire out sound" where you realize the sound man charges 7x what you are wanting to pay and then argue about how no one wants to actually chip in on said equipment
