Zakk Sabbath, that is. Looking forward to it! This will be my second time seeing "Sabbath". First time was on the Dehumanizer tour with Dio. At a weird seated venue where I was actually going because Exodus was opening. Dio is a vocal god but I was wayyyyyyyyyyy beyond wanting to listen to his plodding stuff at that point. They did put on a good show.

Zakk Sabbath seems like a win because, well; Zakk. His voice is a perfect Ozzy clone and his playing is obviously steeped in all that with his own shred stuff thrown in. I would 1000% rather listen to him sing Sabbath tunes than his own stuff (other than a Pride and Glory set which probably wouldn't hit the same now anyway). They are playing at that spot we opened up for the Mummies at which is a nice sized venue. Zoso and the Iron Maidens are opening up so it should be a killer show \m/

It's like Mike Campbell kinda, where he sounds a lot like Tom Petty!

Someone else here said it was crazy loud at the show and they left, so bring heavy duty earplugs!

I think Zakk’s been singing the Ozzy/Sabbath stuff closer to the original keys than Ozzy has for a while.

I mean hell, they were down to C# on No More Tears.

I just wish Zakk would have stayed right in this zone for the remainder of his career.

I think that seems cool as hell. It's not a tribute band but Zakk Wylde putting his stamp on classic songs. Honestly though I was the prime age for Zakk era Ozzy so I'd totally watch him play through that stuff as well.

He sounds like Ozzy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
That good, huh?

One of the biggest things I find interesting about Zakk is how much the dude tours. It’s nonstop, maybe grabbing a week home at a time between tours/legs. This dude has been at it since he was 19 and he’s in his 50’s now. His wife is also quite successful, owning a multi-million dollar merchandising company while also managing Zakk. Sharon took her under her wing immediately when Zakk joined Ozzy.

This dude doesn’t need the money, he doesn’t need to make a name for himself or prove himself at this point, but the dude gigs like his life depends on it, whether it’s a stadium tour or a 400 seater club, he’ll show up and do the Zakk thing. I don’t think anyone could pull off that kind of life without having a serious passion for playing/gigging.

Also pretty cool that he’s held onto that marriage as long as he has, they’ve been together since high school.

When I first moved to ATL in late '92, I was 18, and my first job was at a retirement home doing room service from the kitchen and other odds and ends. There was a new girl that got hired that came from NJ and she went to high school with Zakk, and on a few dates iirc. She brought in a yearbook and sure enough, there he was. I was really starting to get into guitar at that point and thought that was so cool. :ROFLMAO:
Yep, the dude has never let up with gigging. He's certainly made the most it. :beer
