is the mc90 the same as a c90 ? I understand that the Mesa speaker is similar but distinct from the cl80, however I was taking a closer look at the speaker in my mark IV combo shell and it is labeled as both an MC90 and a G12-80. When you Google g12-80 the classic lease 80 is mostly what comes up so I’m slightly confused

I could be mistaken, but it is my understanding that the C90 is basically a G12-80 that was tweaked to Mesa specs, including a higher power rating.

Also my overall understanding ( I think venting/wattage being the main differences?)

That g12-80 sticker just threw me off

Not sure about the C90s, but I have heard that the Mesa-specced V30s are voiced slightly differently that the normal production units. Also, all Mesa Celestions are still made in England, though that may change under Gibson. We'll see...

My old ass thought you typed MC5
-I’m up front & center.
Wait..
Yeah they’re the same.
Husky is the best way I describe that cone & magnets inherent vibe.
I liked the Stiletto Ace through 2 in a RoadKing 4X12-rad cabinet.

I REALLY like my closed back Mesa 1x12 with all my amps, and ironically the IRs I jive with the most are all CL80

mesa would have OEM stuff tweaked to their specs and stamped "Mesa", transformers too. custom everything. black shadow speaker is a doozie

Interesting, since I am a huge fan of the CL80.

Do you know Bygone Tones?
They have a huge list of the Celestion T-codes. For the T-code shown in the first picture, it says:
