Fractal Talk

Real winners go TremVerbTrem for the extra womp-wa-wompwomps
Add another verb to the end of that and you're really winning.

Cliff has no chill. 🔥

I'm surprised he's still finding wrong component values in his models after all these years. I understand why you might re-examine something when it gets called out as not being consistent with the real amp model in terms of sound or behavior (as was the case for the Friedman BE and Peavey 5150 models), but who out there was calling for the volume pot taper on the Dr. Z Maz 38 model to be corrected?

I applaud Cliff's ethos of always pursuing improvement.

I'd guess that most of the changes don't happen because an amp gets "called out" on the internet. If I were doing it, I'd have an internal auditing process. It would have to be re-run whenever Cliff changed the underlying computations in a big way. With the sheer number of amps, some of 'em are going to be at the end of the list.

Maybe when there's a lot of complaining about an amp, it might get moved up in the queue...?

Pure speculation on my part.

I’d love to have a NAM player block in my AM4, but not for that reason.

I WANT the continuous firmware updates to change the sound (and other aspects). That’s what has made Fractal’s modeling improve so much over time.

It's been said many times before....you can achieve the same effect by picking a proven firmware version and staying on it.
Yeah sure, but then you would not get the `new reverbs - delay - amps - useful new stuff.
I hope for a new normal FW option, were new things gets added, but the old sounds stay the same. Sure if there is a bug, fix it. But to "remaster" amps all the time just looks wierd ( from the outside )

Like:
Axe Fx VI gets new engine - and new stuff (y)and after a few years.. sure new engien might be cool

I think folks would be more happy with this, I would. As I got tired of sounds not sounding the same when I had my Axe Fx II after years of FW updates.

Actually that happened some posted a clip of a MAZ 38 saying the model was very dark compared to the clips of the real amp
So I suspect that was likely the reason for looking
Cliff is always reading posts
If some says something like the model is too compressed or dark or not the same attack it will usually prompt him to look

Also porting the algorithm to ICONS might have them looked at a bit more

Maybe my ears are shot but I can't recall many firmwares where I could truly tell a difference 😂

Maybe it was more drastic in the OG era. I've never felt like I had to completely redo a preset because of tonal changes.
Yep it kills me sometimes
OMG it so bright to much high end

Too which I will usually post my canned reply
“Have you considered turning down the treble and/ or presence
