Demmit...

I have this gif of a woman just BUSTING up the joint... thrashing it.

I just can't get it small enough to load.

Sorry for the buzz-kill. Came to chill... and it turned into More digit-shit!

Love you ALL. Favourite vibe that keeps me alive.

When people start looking at me funny... here I must arrive to get myself grounded... down to Earth! :p

Can you dick slits not get all political and just listen to the guy talk about how he fucking struggled with the Axe FX ????

I checked it out. At least he’s upfront about not taking the time to understand how it worked before he jumped head first. Not sure what specific time period that was but I saw them on the Black Diamond Sky tour (AIC, Mastodon and Deftones, SICK show) and his tone was pretty killer. The Diamond Eyes album is the only album of theirs I’ve been able to get into.

Koi No Yokan album and tour era was Fractal.

Playing through the Axe FX 3, the only thing I can think is man I'd love to have an FM3 in a different form factor. That level of power in something closer to the size of a Quad Cortex with more switches would be insane.

I think they'll get there in a couple of years (the Axe-Fx 3 power in an FM3 form factor)

The Jacinto 7 line of SoCs from TI are beasts, see my speculation here: https://thegearforum.com/threads/next-gen-fractal-speculation-thread.9071/page-3#post-374965

I went down the rabbit hole coz I was listening to Gore and absolutely loving the spacey guitar tones on that album.

For me, in rough order, and literally off the top of my head and by the seat of my pants:

- Koi No Yokan
- Diamond Eyes
- White Pony
- Around The Fur
- Adrenaline
- Gore
- Saturday Night Wrist

I haven't listened to the new one yet!

...words one may say when having absolutely no fucking clue where that list started from... where its going to end...

...and whatever happened in the middle.

Fading out....

:hmm:Boo
DUDE! This latest Deftones album is the first one in forever to my ears iirc that has made a mark on me! First three are CLASSIC! The best song Maynard ever sang is on White Pony FFS!

Damn I’ll have to check it out!!

As for “Passenger”….I’ll always hold that song close to my heart for reasons I won’t discuss here, but there’s a few Perfect Circle and Puscifer songs I’d put above it!

Ok, got my playlist for this afternoon!

It's a bummer Stephen isn't touring. I see he's getting all kinds of shit online but he also apparently was at the Eagles of Death Metal concert in Paris...I can't imagine that kind of trauma. He also looks like he's lost a good bit of weight. I'm rooting for the guy (like I'd root for anyone struggling with shit).

Anyways, new album sounds pretty good so far although I can't say it's mind blowing so far. Maybe it's a bit more of a safe sounding album that's more like their stuff from the 2000's? It's mixed pretty well though.

My ranking:

--- Peak Deftones ---
White Pony
Around the Fur

--- Albums the rejuvenated the band ---
Diamond Eyes
Private Music
Gore

--- Inconsistent but some great songs ---
Saturday Night Wrist
Koi No Yokan
Hexagram

--- Not for me ---
Adrenaline
Ohms

--- Peak Deftones ---
White Pony
Around the Fur
Diamond Eyes
Koi No Yokan

Private Music
Gore
Ohms

--- Inconsistent but some great songs ---
Saturday Night Wrist
deftones
Adrenaline

Mines somewhere like that. Somewhat surprised how many people didn’t rate Ohms - I find it pretty solid even if it lacks some absolute classics. Self titled and SNW have grown on me more in the last few years than when they first came out.

I don’t dislike any of their albums although adrenaline doesn’t really feel like a fully fledged deftones album in the way the others do. I like the naivety and excitement/energy that bands have at that stage of their career though.
