Dabbling with external IRs and the Cab Manager.

Maybe I missed this but just an overall quality of life update I think the AM4 needs = not having to switch back and forth between pages.

Example, go to Cab manager, Load the IR then audition with current/active amp/preset/whatever. Instead of having to press save, close Cab Manager, go back to amp > cab then audition.

I know its first world problems but that would be an excellent update if there isn't a way already.

I am not sure if the AM4 has it, but I know the day I found the thumbtack icon in FM3 Editor my life was changed, lol.

Ordered an AM4 - all but decided last week I'm selling my Axe FX III and FC-12 as I just don't use the full horsepower and I want something portable to take to other rooms in the house and use w/ headphones (like a sofa rig :sofa).

The QC Mini is my other thought and that may still happen, but I love the Fractal amp modeling!
That was my plan back in December and, uh, keeping everything :bag

This is forking glorious!
Took me no more than two hours to learn the unit and do exactly what I need.
In this short time my hand has developed some "modeler muscle memory" and everything is super speedy, don't even need AM4 Edit.

For now it goes directly into the input of the AxeFxIII with an empty preset and the true hard bypass mode (Automatic AM4 Bypass) is excellent if I quickly want to go into the AxeFx for comparison.
Currently I only use one slot for the Amp block so there is three empty slots for other effects and that's just a single preset which is all I use pretty much even with the AxeFx.

I notice immediately that the UI is polished with high attention to ease-of-life detail like when entering expert settings in each block it remains on that parameter when I re-enter the expert settings to change it again, this allows me to quickly fine tune the expert parameters while going back and forth between screens.

Not gonna lie ... that appeals far more than the Axe III does.

It is pretty much the equivalent to a modular 4-channel amp with with 1-2 pedals in the loop and 1-2 pedals before the amp, where you can change everything with a click of a button, and of course you can add real pedals before and after.
If I was Harry Potter and could shrink a few halfstacks, a few heads, an amp/cab switcher, some microphones and a few of my favorite pedals and put it all in a small backpack, that would be the AM4 as I see it.

Awesome setup. This is somewhat similar to what I want to do, though at this point I’m thinking a Black Fountain Stereo for delay duties.

Great setup! How are you amplifying this?

As long as the RC5 can take MIDI you'll find a path forward. But steel yourself for a lot of touch screen UI diving to customize the Luminite to do what you need it to do.
It can; it's the silly little 1/8" stuff. But it does allow for Start/Stop/Overdub/etc over MIDI, which is very handy. Then of course the AM4 is MIDI, the Collider is MIDI.
