Fractal Audio Systems AM4 - Amp Modeler

I’m probably making you all repeat yourselves, but what do you like for a somewhat “natural” feeling wah controller? Doesn’t need to click.

I did indeed manage to sell the TMP. The AM4 is my only high end modeler. I don't know if I'll bother to sell my ACS1, and I know I'll keep my GT-1000CORE, because X-Crunch. Oh, and I'll sell my Ampli-Firebox and my Tonex.

Point being: This thing really does it for me. It got me back (sold and selling gear) and kept me from spending (Stadium) thousands.

This is the greatest device ever.

I can't wait for what teh future holds for Fractal.

Worked with it a lot yesterday, and have come to the conclusion that I'll likely never have a need for OD-->amp-->modulation-->delay-->reverb at the same time. I generally only use modulation with clean or moderate gain tones. So I think what I'll be doing is splitting things into "Clean+Crunch" patches and "Heavy+Lead" patches, and then using the Morningstar as the "brain" to switch patches and scenes.

Also, I've begun experimenting a lot with the "Reverb+Echo" algos, which is VERY helpful too.
Dont forget that the dual delay can also be a chorus, flanger and pseudo verb (using the diffusion parameters ).

My AM4 arrives on wed. Its my first fractal so I'm devouring the youtubes and the forum posts. Part of me thinks that between the input and output boosts on the amp block I wont need the drive block except for the occasional fuzz.

On my helix/stomp I always used the timmy for EoB with the fender amps because those models never sounded good to me distorted even slightly. And then I'd stack a Zendrive, Klon or prince of tone for leads. I'm hopeful with the AM4 I can get all those tones using amp gain plus the built in boosts and just setup scenes for various gain levels. Same thing with the marshalls.

I wish the input boost was also foot switchable.
I think it is... via midi. I intend to grab a Hotone Ampero Control 4 button midi F/S to use with the AM4. It also allows you to add 2 dual passive footswitches (in addition to an EXP pedal on the AM4 itself). I'm hoping to use those for input boost, output boost, tap and tuner.

Not to push a sale on here but @BROCKSTAR has a MC3 available
