Fractal Audio Systems AM4 - Amp Modeler

The tones are really good so far. I've not dove too deep in functionality parameters and such.
I've just been having fun, have only played 3 or 4 models and getting lost in playing. That's a very good sign. Loving the Face Fuzz > 65 Bassguy > 4x12 Friedman GB > medium chamber verb. The FF responds as it should with guitar volume. :chef
Trying to remember..., were you non-modeler prior to this?

No, but compared to a lot of you guys I started a bit later. I've been using a Stomp XL and Native for about 2 yrs now. I mean, I've dabbled in plugin modeling for 20 yrs, mainly with a Sansamp plugin, but only moderate use.

Pretty similar experience here. This is your first fractal device? (I should say fractal amp modeler, I just saw you have a VP4 and already answered this question) What do you think, is the amp modeling a major upgrade over helix/stomp? Not really? Too soon to say?

I’m pretty close to ordering one myself. Would be an easier decision if I hadn’t just spent hundreds completing my stomp pedalboard.

First impressions I would say, yes. But, I was pretty impressed with Helix when I first got it too. It feels like the Fractal is smoother and less harsh in the high end, maybe a bit more present and responsive overall. Transparent? Can't say about the new HX Agoura amps though, maybe those things have been vastly improved? Either way, having both right now is a great thing, I don't plan on getting rid of my Stomp anytime soon.

Awesome congrats, but as you know were at a point now they all sound really good, difference will be how you like your workflow and if it works for you, I really think that your technique is more important, but thats my 2 cents

Thanks! Yeah, I agree with you on technique/individuality - that is the most important thing. But it's pretty cool when you can quickly dial up some killer tones with not much effort. It helps focus on playing more. :D

@FractalAudio will the new simplified PC editors come to FM3/FM9? - if that can be revealed. Thank you!
I have a Non-XL stadium preordered but I am really tempted by AM4 or FM3. The older software of FM3 pushes me away from it though.

BTW @2112 has put out blocks form the AM4, i use his blocks quite often makes dialing in even faster, ask @Blockstar lol
