Fractal Audio Systems AM4 - Amp Modeler

I knew we'd make some progress!

I sold my VP4 literally a few hours before the AM4 was announced because I no longer had a real amp and wasn't using it. Now I have an AM4 on the way and I'm regretting my life choices. I'll probably never really need more than the 4 blocks in the AM4, but it would have been a fun rig to play with.

For the US price an absolute no brainer.
If G66 had stock two days ago I’d have bought for 954€.

Now sanity is returning.
Let’s see how I feel in 2 weeks when they have stock.
For people who don’t have any fractal or line sick stuff or any modelers this is not a no-brainer. We may be hypnotized by the price point but trust me after using it probably for a couple of months. It’ll be way too limited to be happy with.
Most of the people buying it are people that already have a couple of high-end units. They either wanna back up or something simple or for paddle board for fly gigs or whatever they wanna call them.

I mean, you would know, amirite?

Meh - you can put a 4-channel modulation block in front, a 4-channel reverb and a 4-channel delay post, have a couple of boost options in the amp block, and will need to be running an external 9V power supply anyway, so adding a couple of drives in front is pretty easy. Not many people need more than that.

This box plus a wah pedal is doing what the Tonelab does, but you know, like, 23 years better.

What exactly is it that you play that you would find this limiting?

I ordered one because it gives you pretty much everything you need and nothing you don't. Just add an expression pedal and you're set to do a lot.

Do you build massive FX chains? If so, this is not for you.

Ok got my AM4 and VP4 connected and hooked into the AXE-FX 3 turbo MKII OUTPUT / INPUT 4 :D

I also have a boss vg-800 and boss gm-800 connected via serial cable that I use with a boss serial cable and gk-5 pickup on my kiesel tim miller m6 guitar and that goes into INPUT 2 of AXE-FX 3. These 2 give me tons of guitar synth options and different tuning options and virtual guitars and even extra amps / effects if i want them.

Then I have a empress effects zoia in OUTPUT 3 / INPUT 3

I wonder how much more latency that would be? If anything I'm not feeling it or im just not that sensitive too it!

Right now I just gotta hook up my 2 expression pedals and 2 boss fs-5u switches to the AM4 and VP4 and my rig will be complete (for now).
