Fractal Audio Systems AM4 - Amp Modeler

Replace? No, no, no… you add it in…

Extra dsp, extra footswitches, more is more…

One potentially cool setup would be AM4 into VP4 and then out in stereo. That’s because some of the cool stereo post stuff isn’t in the AM4 (dual detune and plex delay for example).

However that setup wouldn’t allow the use of both virtual capo and dual detune simultaneously (a setup I love and use often).

Probably not a big deal for a lot of people though.

Nah.
I thought it was like with the VP4, which allows for 4CM maneuvers. In case that's not possible, I'm afraid I'll pass already. Seriously, bringing in some choice pedals every now and then is what I'm doing since ages and with each and every setup. Not being able to do so without additional (loopswitching) hardware is something I'm not excited about at all.
I am pretty much convinced you have more difficult and complex routings situations than anyone I can think of touring internationally

So the expert mode in amp block has the tube types , NFB bright caps ?
Does it have cab align or the new cab delay stuff ?

I'm reconsidering waiting for the Stadium (non XL), getting this instead and putting it in the loop of my LT for the Poly stuff and Command Center.

I think it makes a lot of sense. You get the usability and familiarity of the LT, and its excellent MIDI implementation, and the amps, delays, and reverb of Fractal without having to add a whole FM3 or something. Plus you can still do dual (and more) amps if layering with the Helix amps (watching out for phase issue ofc)

I wish I new what this is for, I get the vp4, for folks who use real amps an cabs, but this I'm clueless
Thanks to anyone who can clarify
:beer

If you'd buy something like a Tonex or UA Dream / Lion / Ruby / etc or Walrus ACS to handle amp + a couple FX on your pedalboard and don't want a big modeler, this ends up being an (overall) better and more flexible version of that. The FM3 could kind of fill that gap, but was pretty large (and expensive) for that use case, and the interface wasn't as friendly.
