Fractal Audio Systems AM4 - Amp Modeler

I've never had issues with UPS or fed ex really. It's always been the damn USPS for me!
Pretty much the same for me. My Dream Theater box set of Parasomnia got lost by the post office, but I was able to do some sleuthing of my own and figure out where it went, and it showed up the next day. So all in all, I've been pretty lucky I guess.

Although I'm not like some of you all, getting several packages a month delivered. Shit, Hello Fresh must've decided FedEx was too costly, so they switched to those "app" drivers. So I haven't had a FedEx truck in my driveway in over a year now.

Now if the mail lady could just stop shoving my mail all the way into the back of the box, I'd be set! :rofl (I grab my mail on my way home from my truck, since I have a long lane.)

UPS sucks azz just as badly, at least in my area!

UPS has always been worse for me
When I got my AXE3 we were living in a condo where 2 units upstairs 2 down so 4 doors
UPS tracking showed in transit when I got home that night it was sitting on my step upside down , it said signature required , obviously no one did , and it was raining and damp , thank they had leaned it against door

Another time sold my Quad Cortex to a guy in Seattle
2 day shipping he paid for
It got held I. Memphis and they had to get in touch w me
I had written guitar processor digital on the description label
I kid you not, I talked to 3 people to get it released
The issue was they needed to know what kind of “wood” the guitar was made of
I was like it’s not a guitar it smaller than a Ukele why did you not just open the box
Anyway buyer was pissed and I had to return the shipping cost that IIRC was like $200

All of their tracking systems are surprisingly non-useful a considerable chunk of the time. That said, in my experience, most shipping problems are local in origin. FedEx uses contractors for their last few miles, and some of them can be...flaky, with not much recourse. Some UPS local distribution points are well run, and others are sh!t shows. Same with post offices.

We have a really good local post office, though national efforts to intentionally undermine the USPS can bite anyone. There's a UPS distribution hub not far from my house, and most of the drivers are from the local community, which seems to help a lot. FedEx runs hot and cold. There is one driver who has delivered her who ins pretty consistently good. He always looks a little confused, but things go where they're supposed to.

Overall, I've had much worse shipping experiences in other places I've lived, but where I am now, things are pretty good overall. The absolute worst as the shippers who have chosen to use DoorDash for the final mile. That's a clown operation, and the people doing the deliveries couldn't care a tiny bit less than they do.

I'm still trying ti decide whether to buy an AM4. I have my FM9T, and I don't have any performances that I need something compact for. So this would be purely to get the most recent cool device. I'll probably do it anyway, but I'm actually thinking it over.

This thread is now about shipping. I wish Cliff would do a realistic shipping modeler, where you could emulate how your order is fucked up depending on what carrier you choose.
To quote a famous hot tub Afficianado
Maybe the best option to avoid shipping problems and delays is to not ship at all🤔

From their website:

Per ChatGPT (which I understand could be incorrect), countries such as Sweden and Spain, it's 3 years and Finland and Netherlands are somewhat dependent.

Since they are the single distributor in Europe, it's probably a matter of giving a single solution...

I live in Sweden. There's no 3 year mandatory "warranty" here per say. There is a 3 year consumer protection against manufacturer faults via the "Right to complain". This is not the same as warranty though. In practice, most companies adhere to this right however and provides replacement, but this is not mandatory.

You can read it, in English, on our ministry of consumer rights: https://www.konsumentverket.se/en/articles/warranty/#4WcRB6txLYDrESLkUdtFcA

Day one with AM4 after ironically jamming earlier in the day with the FM9
So far I love this box
It’s compact and sounds killer although sounds were never in question.
I love how easy it is to work with
Set up custom switching so no more hold 2 buttons for me .
Preset switching is really fast like I would say same as scenes , you could technically use a bank of presets as 4 scenes , and copy the same amp, then just change up the effects.
It’s amazingly powerful for how compact it is
They should sell a ton of these
Can you expand on how you set up the custom switching to get rid of the 2 button holds?

Would you prefer the thread be about G66 pricing and warranty? ;)

Looks like Fedex finally located it and it's on its way. 7-day shipping - I wish Fractal didn't charge $25 shipping for that. Seems like one would expect premium 2-day shipping for that.

Relax there, fella. Just a joke. :D
