Fractal Audio Systems AM4 - Amp Modeler

I just read that in the wiki, unfortunately doesn’t change my opinion though. What if I want to use modulation in the AM4, and an external delay pedal before the amp block?

I don't want or need to change your opinion. I'm just supplying information. :)

External Delay: place it before the AM4?

If that's an absolutely hard requirement for you, this might not be the product for you then. The AM4 is, for it's size and price point, incredibly flexible. But not all use scenarios are going to be possible at this price point. The FM3 would allow for what you want though. As would the FM9 and AFIII.

Cool product if you have a pedalboard investment or you want Fractal amp and cab on the "cheap". Probably not for someone like me that has an FM9 and FM3 and no other pedals. Like the VP4, this another Fractal product I have zero desire or need for.

Quoting Cliff:

"The idea is you put your pre effects before the unit and your post effects (should you need any) in the insert. The outputs of the AM4 are balanced and designed to be sent directly to FOH and/or monitors. If you just put your post effects after the unit you would then need a DI to go to FOH."
I was about to say, the Insert feature is incredibly useful (no need for additional DI for FOH). Solves an existing problem for me when building out pedalboards.

Mono in stereo out. Very different product from the VP4, even though they share some capabilities. I'm pretty much over my "what if I start playing the guitar again and need amp models" FOMO :rofl
