Gonna post this one as illustrative for my actual fav Hammond moment.
We were about to do a concert in Leeds (UK) featuring Georgie Fame (the guy in this vid) on Hammond/vocals playing this tune. We had been rehearsing like madmen…we didn’t want to be caught with are pants down playing with this dude. Also our piano player….the piano parts.
At soundcheck Georgie fame came in…checked the organ…and said: this is a Casio version of a Hammond.,im not playing this…he chased away our piano player..sat down behind the grand piano…and asked our key player politely to take the Hammond seat..(45 min for show time)
Quick, without looking it up, who was TSDG's bass player, and who did he play for for most of his career? Hint: he's in the top 5 of all-time album sales.
I saw MMW at Howlin' Wolf in New Orleans in November 1994, a couple of months before this album was released. They played this song (which no one had heard yet) and the crowd went absolutely ape shit.
