Schaller S locks on half and a mixture of Cliplocks and old Schaller on most of the rest. Some vintage pieces have stock.
Mostly old Schallers or clones, some new S types, Zeppelin locks (don't care for them, they unscrew and come apart too easily), Dunlop, and some of the clip lock ones on my SGs that stay on as they are pita to remove. I believe that's it...

What’s the consensus on something like this?

I use them. Love them. I hate those clanky, big-ass options made of metal or
some ginormous plastic.

These fucking work. I have about a dozen.... because you know..... guitars.

I invested in straps for all of my guitars so I don't have to worry about removing
them. I also play standing up 90% of the time. Great Cardio! :beer

If someone doesn't like them black Ernie Ball makes them in almost
every color.

I’ve been using Schallers for about 30 years now, I still have the strap I used back in my 90s bar band with the locks on it that I installed in 1994.

I didn't know strap locks were a thing back when my LPC Silverburst was new, until it slipped off the strap and dropped straight to the floor! :facepalm

I almost had a heart attack!

Did I not send you a pair of Pro-pins? Is this what you referred to as not workable?

All it takes is that one close call (or an actual drop) and you’ll forever be anal about it. I know I am.

@Iron1 hmmm. hundreds of users seem not to be suffering similar issues... in fact the re-order factor on these is quite high. Is this a problem on one favoured strap or several? I have personally had no issues with a number of famous brands ... One trick you can try is to screw a Pro-Pin into a fence post or door jamb if you are feeling it's too much pressure on a guitar. Once a strap goes on and off a few times you'll likely find it properly trained. It may slow your roll seeking more complex solutions

As you can see, lots of options work.

I use Dunlops mainly, but I have a couple of guitars with Schallers on them. Both work very well.
