I want one 👍

EHX is iconic. Their ancient analog builds will always be legendary. All of the
new generation DSP builds, though, have a harshness and fatiguing quality I just
cannot get on board with.

I'm not hearing anything that I would want to do, that I can't already accomplish with my existing reverbs and some other dedicated pedals - only a little bit sweeter.

Hard pass, this time around.

On the other hand - very nice demo by Bill Ruppert. Some gorgeous chord voicings in some of the finger-picked stuff.

I don't like Bill Rupert's videos to be honest. Everything he does just smells of 1970's lounge bars. Hate it.

Pretty poopy sounding shimmers from this.

Very nice concept. Not really a fan of the sliders though.

Probably just stick with the Illumine. Kicked Strymon to the curb for me.
I don't really have any issues with sliders on pedals.

The very few that I have with sliders (Walrus Sloer, BOSS EQ-200) still seem to be going strong, without any dirt build-up, noise, or dependability issues (so far, at least); so I guess I've been fortunate. But I'm fanatical about keeping my pedals clean (have too many thousands invested in them, not to), and I've been using make-up brushes (of all things) to remove debris from the pedals, before it ever has a chance to wreak havoc on them (and it's a lot quicker, using the brushes, rather than very lightly-dampened cloths, trying to squeeze in between some of the extremely close-together knobs, buttons, and toggle switches. It used to take too damned long, that way. Now, a pedal is good to go in just a few moments :-).

I was intrigued by the Illumine, when it was released, but kind of passed on it, since I don't think I could really take advantage of it's many capabilities without a MIDI switcher. That, and I already have a bunch of nice reverbs (even more delays), since they're my favorite effect (especially nice delays).

Hard to justify the expense.

They sure do sound amazing, though (from the demos I've seen and heard of them).

How long have you had your Illumine?

Years ago, the Immerse Mk II was on my radar for a while, but I never got around to picking one up.

I don't own any Strymon reverbs, other than their Cloudburst, which sounds glorious.

If I ever use the Ensemble feature (which seems to be rarely), it's dialed way back and with the tone turned way down. It's too easy to overwhelm the music with that feature (in my opinion).

Maybe the experience would be different with humbuckers (?).

I’ve had my Illumine about two years. I had the Immerse MKII before it and really liked it. That led me to be interested in the Illumine.

Since I took the plunge, I let my other reverbs go (Strymon included) and I no longer look around for other reverbs. This single unit does everything I need and IMO does it remarkably well. I’m just good now.

Delays are a different matter altogether!
