Drones over NJ/NY??

That is the truth! One time a criminal came to Polk County and killed a deputy and K9.

While I knee-jerked to the "cuz we ran out of bullets" initially, before he's even done saying "K-9" I'm thinking "Yep, ran out of bullets"

Ive not seen anything confirming these are related incidents but there was a recent arrest of a Chinese national who was caught flying a drone over a sensitive location in California.
That reminds me.. I need to check the starter on my whole-house generator.

My wife spotted a drone flying this morning near our house. It got away before she could get a video. I might just need to invest in some anti aircraft artillery.

It’s a very odd situation. The language being used by the FBI and Military doesn’t even really acknowledge that it’s a verified series of events. They reference sightings, reports, etc but seem to stop short of confirming this is a thing.

It’s almost like they want to call it mass hysteria - which perhaps it is. Very interested to see how it unfolds.

Interesting post from a few minutes ago.
Generally those two organizations don't usually confirm or deny anything until the usefulness of "whatever" has been used up or it's been far surpassed by better tech, making what we're seeing look like we're going back decades in tech.

Could be ours, could easily be a foreign actor,. The government have been sending 40-87 Million a week to the Taliban, actually more than that through other means, but it's a pittance in comparison to the base amount. Remember the gov't admitted accidentally sending the $243 million once caught - it usually means much more. It could be weakly argued the payments were to NGO's not directly to the Taliban for maybe a few months. But early on the Taliban kicked out the "normal" NGO staff and replaced them with those in the Taliban/Hakkani network. Those NGO's are usually State Dept/Intel "deniables" for "influence" - always has been.

As an aside, 9/11 was done on a 500K budget. Probably not a good idea to keep sending the money, but it hasn't stopped.

Might be something , might be nothing notable for the short-term. I have a feeling we'll find out one way or another sometime next year.

Remember only 122 days until Tax day in the US - Yay!

If they are iranian drones, we are so fucked.

If they can get drone into our airspace, they can get nukes into our airspace, and apparently we can't do anything about it.

The whole missile defense industry is like the life jacket you put on when your plane is going down.
I’m basically side-eyeing anyone who suggests Iran at this point. They’ve got WAY bigger problems right now.

Reports are saying these "drones" are coming up out of the Atlantic ocean.

:farley
I’ve yet to see anything that actually validates that, but I’ve heard the same claim.

China and Russia have had numerous occasions where they passed right along our shores over the last decade, but surfacing and launching drones (or maybe not surfacing??!) would definitely be a surprise.

Imagining drones equipped with weapons and dead man switches is some super sketchy shit. “Let us do our surveillance or they all go up.” I’d be telling my population that there weren’t any threats too.

I’ve also heard theories that something has made it through a port and WE’RE trying to find it/assess. IOW the drones aren’t a threat, but looking for one.

Just to be safe you could use a nuke. You don’t want to miss and have it get away!

And leave no evidence behind? That would be all too convenient now wouldn't it -@@-

Just build a mild directed energy weapon that you can trigger with a synth

That's something my wife would say. That, I am a mildly detected energy weapon often triggered by synths :crazy

They tried this in close encounters of the third kind and aliens showed up with human hostages. Noping out of this option.

Right now I’m leaning heavily towards mass hysteria. I’m not a flight or military expert by any means but I do live 5 miles from a regional airport as well as directly under a life flight route. I’m very familiar with identifying navigation lights for most planes and helicopters. I’ve yet to see anything that didn’t have either FAA lights OR so much bokeh and blowout that you can’t make anything out.

There’s a single video floating around that I can’t quite tell if it’s a C17 or something else due to the video quality but it’s also missing audio which is a key piece of data when trying to identify craft - that also makes it somewhat suspect.

Right ?

Iran so far away.

:cop
I’m not dismissing Iran because of their proximity. I just don’t think they have the capability to pull it off. Their reach is historically limited to the Middle East, isn’t it?

This would be wild, but I think also could be interpreted as an attack if something did happen. Not saying it’s impossible but it would be surprising.

There is a Chinese startup that generates some attention earlier this year after claiming a breakthrough in a nuclear battery technology that could retrofit a drone and provide upwards of 50 years of uninterrupted power. There was some speculation that it might have been BS - TBD.

I heard they tried lifting the ban on self-service like in Oregon, but the residents complained. Wawa, cry about it

I don't know how you meant that but in many states, you do Wawa to pump gas
