There are likely people on this forum who have done worse, we just don't know about it.
Yes, but...so what? Context is extremely relevant.
It's entirely possible that multiple people on this forum have committed and been convicted of armed robbery. They went to prison, got out, and started playing guitar. I won't even speculate as to how they might have gone down that road, or how repentant they are, because it's not relevant to my point. That crime is not relevant to their interaction here in this context, a guitar gear forum.
Marangella committed multiple calculated, premeditated, protracted, intentional acts of fraud. No, that's not worse than armed robbery. But it's more relevant to this context, precisely because he did it in the context of guitar gear, and he largely accomplished his frauds through engagement on various online platforms.
If someone had a documented history of scamming people on used guitar sales/trades, they'd be banned. Such actions would be
less severe than what Marangella did.
If in fact there are a bunch of people here who are current or past documented, proven fraudsters in the context of guitar gear, I'd leave if they weren't sent packing once they were discovered, too. Because personally, I don't come here to have people pitch frauds to me, and I don't want to participate in the defrauding of people.
