Do you think Kemper profiling MKII will fix these issues?

IMO IK is very intentionally signaling intent to engage in a lasting diologue with their Tonex users and it’s working. Tonex One is EVERYWHERE.

A year ago the internet said you had a 95% chance of death from using Tonex software. Now the majority of the sentiment is that the software is still imperfect but getting consistently better and now the captures are best in class.

It’s hard not to be bullish on IK or at least Tonex right now.
It is hilarious to me how a company that is software first can make such trash software (especially UI), come across as clearly not caring that it's trash, and have such an "open a ticket, and get an email later (or maybe just talk to the hand)" approach to customer feedback. But yes, that product has indeed improved.

Using Tonex for the first time in a few years...it's still pretty crap with the way it gets basic usability and discoverability wrong.

Even something super simple like "Play button turns into a stop button when a clip is playing" is just not a thing, instead it highlights the play button when it's playing. They have surely seen that literally any audio playback software uses a play/pause + stop icon paradigm, and here play/stop would've been appropriate.

Man, I watched a bunch of Mason’s (Vertex/Rig Doctor) videos last week and felt a bit conflicted; he’s come a long way since the Vertex/BBE wah BS, he’s put out some quality information on rig building, gear and his newer interviews with guys like Dan Huff or Keith from Bryan Adams have been outstanding, but it’s shit like that, the whole Rig Doctor thing, that give me caution in regard to inviting him here. And while I’m confident he wouldn’t attempt to screw people over again, I’m not confident the general forum public would be able to let it go in order for anything constructive to come from his presence here.

I agree with you, I didn’t know the background until after the rig doctor thing. Not sure if he took accountability especially publicly. But he’s done some really good interviews and maintains some good relationships with big artists. I think this forum would most likely go after him pretty hard. You need pretty thick skin to represent a brand or channel here.

No doubt a “fake it till you make it” situation…but I think they’re making it.

And that damn search engine is ridiculous. Even if you apply all, it still has trouble finding stuff. You would think that should at least work decently...

Simple question. Why should folks let it go?
Wasn’t the deal that Landau apologized and refunded iirc.
Not that I’m important but I’d be gone. I want no part of that cat.

I mean I’m pretty clear how much I despise lying builders.

Like the video stated, the best is sticking to the Neural AMP Modeler. Free and works.

But doesn't come close to replacing everything a Kemper does. It also is not the same type of user experience. Sure, if you are laser focused on pure amp tones, NAM is hard to beat right now, but most of us need/want more.

Well, throughout life I’ve had various friends and a good amount of family do some really dumb shit and for a period they were excised from my life as a result. Years/decades later, after proving they’ve made changes to not repeat that dumb shit, it would be remarkably odd to just bring it up again. There’s nothing more that can be had from a conversation about it, no new information, no one will be sorrier than they were, I won’t be angrier or less angry than I was, it would just be awkward and most likely end the good that’s come from those relationships since.

It’s simple your house your rules.
But I don’t need to go where there are folks I have no interest of being in the same room.

IOW it’s all good. Your decision.

All true, but the "chance of death" made me LOL. :D

Fuck that guy. He's a moron, and doesn't know nearly as much as he claims. Also, he doesn't deserve to be homeless, but he definitely doesn't deserve to work in the MI gear industry again.

Well, while I’m not going to invite him here, I’m curious how much of his content he’s put out since that time? I know he’s had one good fuck up since then where he gave some bad info about modding an amp, but I haven’t come across any other “You don’t know what you’re talking about” instances in the stuff I’ve seen.

I think he has put out a ton of content. I don't watch but it often shows up in my YouTube feed. You should be able to go to his channel and see the dates.

While I would not promote the guy and likely would not do business with him, I think refusing to be on the same forum is a bit over the top. We have all made mistakes, some worse than others. His was pretty big, and pretty stupid, but he didn't kill anyone or molest children or anything like that.

He also doesn’t know fuck-all about power supplies, and bad mouths VoodooLab without even knowing how they work
