Digital Igloo (Eric Klein, YGG)

Hi DI and forumers. I like HX One form factor a lot. It's smart (perfect size, input/output, midi, exp). I wonder if Line6 will develop series based on this box, like amp+drives or even profiles/captures (no trolling here, just a bit) exploiting this box. I know you won't "comment on future projects", it is just a "thought", a "wish"I wanted to share here... have a nice day before launch of 3.8.

We've talked about this quite a bit. The short answer is that the public has this perception that a pedal that supports three amps must sound better than a pedal that supports 100+ amps. Not sure we want to exacerbate that particular nonsense. Plus, we have friends at Strymon and elsewhere and aren't really interested in stepping on toes.

First of all, thank you for 3.8 DI and team, great work indeed.
I don't remember if you already answerd thid : is Flux function of the ONE unit possible on Helix ?
And a question about an eventual evolution of Asheville pattrn. It is an emulation of moog moogerfooger MF-105-M.
Will Line6 develop an editable version like Headrush Prime Seq Kill you can see on this video

Seq Kill is not editable but there are plenty of presets.
I think it could be an Adrenalinn III like solution. Thank you.

Helix can technically support Flux, but I can't guarantee that it'll end up in there, as it'd have to be implemented quite differently. (In HX One, additional Flux parameters are added to every effect model.) To be honest, Flux was created as one of many test platforms for... something else.

Love the Adrenalinn.

Ben and I spoke about this when he was working on Asheville pattern and IIRC, it was one of those things where we either:
  • give people a ton of parameters to create their own sequences from scratch, but 90% of people stick to the default values/sequence because they can't be bothered making their own
  • give people a good smattering of sequence presets to cover 90% of the types of sequences people would make anyway
For better or worse, we erred on the side of simplicity.

If Flux doesn't make it to Helix, would it be difficult for the team piece together a mono version of the Poly Pitch?

I was just curious if the Shift and Return parameters could be repurposed into a monophonic version as well to free up DSP. But I also remember having a similar conversation about the Poly Sustain and how a bunch of the poly engine is required regardless of the features.
 
Do you hear a change in the dry part of the signal when using Strymon pedals . Not them in bypass .
Am I hearing a buffer changing the sound of the dry through part . It almost sounds like a BBE on a low setting IMO .
Also is it possible to get a split signal or parallel mixer that you literally cannot hear the difference between it and a cable on the dry side ?

The Strymons' dry signal is always analog, but I'm not sure if the buffer is applied here or not, as True/Buffer selection appears to apply to their bypass state only. Haven't tested it personally.

Presumably a truly passive parallel mixer wouldn't impart any signal loss (except for any very minor high end loss due to extra cable length). The EHX has buffered bypass but I'm betting the guys from Saturnworks might have (or could customize) something.
 
I've posted signal sweeps of the BigSky or Timeline before, with a patch enabled, but set 100% dry... compared to the pedal in true bypass. They're very transparent. Any difference you hear is completely illusory.

My friend said that and set me a test in his studio and I could tell when it was in the chain. I don’t like them but lots of people do and they are 50 times better than the H9 /H90. It’s worse on the mk 1 pedals like the El cap .

All I'm saying is, I can't get that to show up on any tests.
