Digital Delay after Dirt Pedals

The MT-2 pedal is underrated and got a bad rep from all the teenagers that cranked all the knobs and wondered why it sounded like a can of bees - the EQ shaping is very powerful and it works excellent run into the return of an amp (bypassing the preamp entirely)

It’s definitely a fantastic pedal if dialled in correctly! Cannibal Corpse use one as a boost with their triple rectifiers

Something to think about… different delay types can sound very different. Typically digital delays are clearer, tape delays may have more modulation and analog delays are generally darker and may be warm. Hypothetically speaking you may think that clearer delays might be best as they have higher fidelity. That’s not always the case though. If you are looking for a musical delay that doesn’t dominate or over-power the original notes or chords tape or analog may be preferable. Note that these voicings can be created digitally as well but will sound different.

Genre and style will also impact what might be best suited. These are generalizations but if you get a chance to try a digital pedal that offers these different modes you will become familiar with how they differ and sound for you. You may already know all of this but just in case…

Awesome, thanks for this!
It’s actually crazy how big the world of delay actually is. If you think of it, it can be a multitude of effects
