What can I say?However....you already have 3 so:

I know every guitar is different, but definitely no squishiness nor soft response with mine - for what that's worth!I am with @Warmart on a concern over a lacquered board. They are considerably different.... and that one looks
really glossy.
Spalted Maple is also kind of soft and not as dense as traditional Maple used. Due to the fungus in the Tree
that leaves those markings it can result in a squishier tone and softer response that you may pick up on0
in your attack.... even if it is just the top.
Totally being that guy.Just things I would take into account/consider as variables.

Sure but he already has other 3 that he can go back to, so something different feeling would be nice for some variety at least.I am with @Warmart on a concern over a lacquered board. They are considerably different.... and that one looks

That's why I suggested a Squier. And the same quality... essentially.Sure but he already has other 3 that he can go back to, so something different feeling would be nice for some variety at least.
Was it the Billy?Rumor has it JP used a Squier in some earlier DT albums.![]()

Don't ever think I'm doubting anything you say, and I totally got what you meant! Just speaking of my single specimen.I am merely comparing a Spalted Maple top as a tonewood compared to Hard/Flame Maple.
Spalted Maple is objectively and inherently softer/less dense.... due to the fungus eating that
wood up. It's actually part of a diseased and decay tree. Not an healthy one.
But it looks cool.![]()
Haha, I totally didn't get MD's dad joke earlier.![]()
I'm hoping that's a Billy Squier gif, lmao
