custom strat with hand-carved snake scale motif – inspired by custom shop art guitars

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share my project in progress – a Strat-style piece with full hand-carved details. I've always admired some of ESP's unique custom pieces, and this is my own interpretation of that idea, but using completely traditional hand-carving, instead of CNC or resin plating.

The scales and tendrils are carved directly into the body, with a slight snake/reptile texture. The headstock also has matching inlays, all hand-carved without any glue-on.

Still working on assembly and selecting the right hardware, but I'm happy with the result.

I wonder what you guys think of this aesthetic – is it too much, or too fun?

Wow! That looks like a LOT of work! I would be afraid to play that one for fear of damaging it, but it definitely would be cool to have hanging as art or a conversation piece.

I can assure you that the construction is very safe and not easily damaged, meaning it is not fragile... so it is very safe to play with, friend.
