Custom control plate for an amplifier

I’m building a head shell for my DSL40C. I’m going to mount it tubes up with the controls on the bottom like a proper Marshall head. This will make the front faceplate upside down. If I could find a faceplate for a DSL100H, i could snip the ends and use that. Otherwise, I’ll have to make one or have it made.

Anyone have a source for such a thing?

Before I order from them, is the an option that is in the USA? I would imagine the shipping would be both expensive and perilous.

$68 shipped to me for a custom one according to their site. It's just a thin piece of metal, so I wouldn't really worry about it getting damaged in shipping

In the US, I imagine you could find a machine shop local to you that can cut a plate of metal, then laser engrave it. I doubt it'll be cheaper than $68, though.

Yeah. The weak point of the DSL40 (C and CR) is the open back cabinet. I always use it plugged into a 2x12. In fact, there isn’t even a speaker installed in the combo. I’ll surely post the results.

Here's a crazy thought. Could you not build the headshell to accommodate the faceplate direction? Save some $ on having to order an aftermarket plate?

Honestly, I know myself and I’m probably just going to leave the upside down faceplate on there.
