Two basses now and only three guitars, I think this means I have to buy a new guitar to establish a better equilibrium.

Anything decent made by World. Ibanez SGRs used can be cheap and serious performers. I got what appears to be a World made fender squire 5 string for peanuts and it’s excellent. Feels nothing like a piece of shit fender
