Capture FM3 with Tonex

Ok, I feel really, really stupid because I'm in a tech field and can usually nail these things pretty easily, but I'm absolutely 100% baffled with how to capture an FM3 using USB routing on the FM3. Like, just totally confounded.

If anyone has done this can you post some screenshots of your Tonex modeling routing page as well as the I/O setup screen on the FM3 device itself or otherwise describe the routing process and I/O setup?

I don't have a Tonex device and didn't even realise that you could capture via USB. Do you know for sure that's really possible?

I have a Nano Cortex and that only captures via the analog I/O.

I captured an amp on my Axe FX, I didn't do so over USB though. I used my Apollo Twin for the sends and returns. I'll have to check if this is possible, would be nice if so, would remove the AD/DA converters from the equation.

It's definitely possible, I'm getting close, but having phasing issues with some of the inputs and outputs....

I figured this out, capturing over Windows USB.

Here are screenshots of what worked for me:
See ToneXCapture_Fractal.png for In / Out Settings.
See ToneXCapture.png for ToneX software routing.

That’s how I did mine as well using a Scarlett 18i8.

What are the physical connections? I would like to give this a try and compare it to my analog IO captures.

I just used input 1 on my axe fx for my guitar. I have the output routed over spdif to my apollo twin for monitoring.
You should be able to use my screenshots for routing. I believe routing would change if you are using FM3 or FM9.

My capture did vary slightly, but I also used the advanced learning algorithm over the standard, so that may have been the difference this time.
