Can I switch from 0.10 to 0.09 strings on my Ibanez AZ2204N without adjusting the action?

Hi guys! I bought an Ibanez AZ2204N that came with 0.10 strings from an online store. These strings are a bit old, and I want to replace them. I only have new packs of 0.09 strings. Will I need to adjust the action or do any other setup changes if I switch to these lighter strings?

the 9s will have less tension, the springs will pull the bridge closer to the body if it's not blocked or body flush already, all u got to do is tune up with 9s then back the trem screws out until the bridge is level again

Switching from 10s to 9s on a hardtail can sometimes work without much fuss, but chances are that the truss rod will need to be loosened a touch and the intonation will need to be adjusted.

On a guitar with a floating trem, all bets are off. The bridge WILL need to be set up for the lighter strings.

Truss rod , intonation, springs in a trem will all need a tweak. I have seen 10s in Eb swapped to 9s in standard and it mostly worked, depending on how perfect your expectations were. Rule is change anything and you need a set up. I recommend everyone learns how to properly do their own setup but in truth I almost never see it. There is only about three people on the planet I would let do mine.

Maybe, but you may need to tweak the truss rod, action, or springs if there's buzzing or playability issues. Assuming you don't do anything really dumb like crank the truss rod several turns in one direction it's all very easily reversible.
