BluGuitar Amp X

Good news: they stopped at PCB revision #7

Some highlights:

- 64 input impedance steps / values
- redone XLR outs; new circuitry to prevent any loud popps
- going into production soon (PCB revision #7)
- beta testing starts soon & should be ready for Guitar Summit 2025 (final HW version of AmpX)
- now allows cascading boost / od pedals in their "Boost" and "Overdrive" slots

Eh?

Shouldn't they do beta testing _before_ the final hardware PCB version which they're going into production with?

Most likely they are talking about external beta testing, e.g giving it to some artists for use at gigs, studios etc. You want finished hardware for that and most bugs should be software related.

Does that mean that several years into development, the XLR outs were still causing loud pops?
If the Amp X is turned off while the PA is on. Afaik a lot of gear will cause a pop from the speakers when turned off, and the louder the output system is set the more scary it sounds. It's a nice little quality of life improvement for sure.
