I once had to go get 20 sheets of 12' drywall, since the builder I worked for didn't know how to estimate! But I'll never forget how nice my F250 rode with all that weight! It's a strong truck, but damn does it ride hard empty.

Paul Smith built Howard Leese's guitar out of his mother's dresser, I believe it was. Even has the hole (filled) where the knob screw hole used to be.
Eh, tell the customer you have to split it in half so the wood will remain stable, then you only need a 24".
Sacrilege, I know. 
I had to use my boss's bandsaw for something small (I can't remember what it was), and I don't know if his saw was just a POS, but I had a hard time getting it to cut straight. I checked the tension, had the guides just above the work piece, but it did not want to cooperate.
