If you buy a K&M stand, you'll need to check and see if they've changed the rubber support material. It ruined the nitro on a Les Paul we used to own.

Shame really, because it was a great stand otherwise.

I have 3 of their guardian 5-guitar stands, 1 guardian 3+1 stand, and 5 of the Heli 2 stands.

My stands are all nitro-safe, but you need to make sure to choose the nitro-safe models.

Of course, unless all owned guitars are poly, this nitro-safe check needs to be done all brands of stands.

Anyone have a suggestion for something with a neck support/holder? I have big dogs and I'm always afraid they will knock into my stands.

When I need more than one I’ve started preferring the racks. I can fit 3 in the same space as 2 and for how I play they’re faster to get in/out.

I like racks… I just need something good, solid, and handy with a small footprint.

I’ve got my instruments hanging on the wall but when I want to record, I need one or two right next to me.

One stand ain’t cutting it. I had another one, but I might’ve tossed it.

I agree with the two compact single stand option - keeps placement a little more flexible too. I'm a big fan of the Hercules stuff:

These are pretty good. I have been using mine for around 6 or 7 years now. I have a lot of bad things to say about their original stands. The rubberized plastic on them deteriorated and got sticky then weakened to the point of the spring breaking the roll pin out of the handle area then the stand would drop the guitar straight down. I had 4 of those stands and they all became junk, expensive junk. Thankfully they changed the material they make these out of. The plastic part is harder now and has held up pretty good for me. The thumb screw that holds the legs is still the old material and mine has become sticky but still works.
