This thread reminds me that I haven't put power to my old Mesa Roadster in quite a long time. I was playing a gig with it probably 8 to 10 years ago and I got out in front of it and hated what I was hearing. The drive had a terrible grainy sound to it. I decided I was done gigging that amp at that point. I used to love the tones I got out of it. I put the original tubes back in it and haven't really touched it. I have been meaning to mess around with it again. I need to do that some day soon. I had swapped the output tube type in it to suit what I was doing with it. I suppose it could have been crappy power in the place I was playing that made me really dislike it.
