Live singing has become more about "performing" than singing.
Sometimes singers who have elaborately dressed-up stages, too many lights and lots of dancers in the background get more fame than their low profile counterparts who are equally good or even better. But low profilers don't have the budget or vision to present themselves in a flashy way.
It personally hurts me even more when such singers kinda hide their guitarists, drummers, keyboard players and bassists in a corner of the stage while there are like 15 dancers in the close vicinity of the singer.
I am not against having dancers on stage. One of my close friends from real life is a ballerina, and I am aware of her challenges and struggles. It is equally difficult to learn and present any art to people. I just wish that as a society, some musicians should tone-down their act and keep it simplistic.
