Anyone heard from La Szum?

Man, just saw this thread and got concerned, but relieved to see the OP date and that Papa @la szum is back and well

Shit looks like it was wild tho didn’t hear about this whether event at all

Low population density = who actually gives a fuck. Also, one of the "poorest" counties in the
entire State. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks, SOTS! :beer

Such a missed opportunity.

I though the storm we had here where I had no power for a few days was bad. Holy crap yours was so much worse. Glad you're ok dude.

My Mom's house was out for 19 days. Not a lot of fun for the old folks like her. I pretty much
stayed there 24/7---and actually drove out there in the middle of the Storm, because I knew
I would never make it out there if I waited until it was over. Even then it was a cut your way
through the road to get there. I was fortunate that several other guys were out with chainsaws
and clearing roads while it was all going down. Very, very sketchy---as you watch and listen
to Trees and Limbs snapping and falling.

Our Internet is still jacked---and intermittent. I am living in the early 1990s again and it isn't
so bad---as long as I don't try and do too much 21st Century stuff like this.

Thanks for Good Vibes, SO! My best to you and the Fam. You're a Dude! :beer

Hearing those trees POP is NUTS

Totally! Since there was no Power, and no ambient noise in the House, you could hear
them doing that all night long for 3 straight nights. Eerie silence combined
with those Gunshot like cracks and then the rumble of them hitting the ground.

Not recommended for anyone's Bucketlist of things to experience, if you ask me.

Yeah, that's a freaky experience, fo sho!

Speaking of "Dave's not here man," where's @norminal been?

Haven't heard from him since he told me to take a day off in between practicing Innocence Faded.

Glad your good @la szum ! This was 2 years ago here in Calif. We live at 3,200' so not a lot of snow int he foothills but that year it was non stop for 2 1/2 weeks
My wife texts me a pic of the oak that fell across the driveway in the opening frame. After clearing it we had a telephone pole snap along with at least 5 other oaks coming down across our street we live on.

5-7" of rain followed by heavy wet snow = trees on the ground every time! Good news is everything on my property or that neighbors don't want becomes firewood!
At 3:23" you get a glimpse of the view from our deck post polar vortex! :beer at the end if shoveling the woodshed with 3 1/2 feet of snow as a I was worried the roof might give in on our primary heat source. A first in 22 winters

Wow! I could not imagine plowing all of that snow with a 4 Wheeler. Like eating an Elephant
one bite at a time.

You all survive and recover pretty well?

We are being told we have increased the risk of Forest Fires for the next 5 to 10 years
due to all the trees/treetops now laying on the ground and just waiting to be fuel.

Just another day with us all being Nature's Bitch.

That was a 100 year winter. We have been on this hill for 23 years and only seen one other winter with almost that much. this past winter I did not plow once. It's a crap shoot whether the snow will come down below 4,000'.

In Calif they would make massive burn piles from blow down and slash and torch it all off right before it snows
