All Things ENGL!

I don’t think the mini recto has all the onboard IR stuff either right? So placing on a pedalboard could be a legit option lol

I still think it’s a bit of a lackluster release but I’ve always been rooting for ENGL. they’ve always been in my top 3 for high gain sounds

The mini rec came out in 2012, way before any of the onboard reactive loads and IRs were available. Mesa also never iterated, so the original mini rec is the same one you'll find anywhere today.

I just watched the andertons guitar summit video and I gotta say seeing the ravager IR n the wild is pretty cool. Super tiny, can have an output straight to your interface with no need for extra hardware.

A tubescreamer style boost and a gate like the invective would have truly made it an all in one but that’s wishful thinking. Still very cool as it is, definitely got me rethinking picking up some lunchbox amps again.

Meah...another EL84 amp... I always wonder why can't builders at least go with 6V6 tubes in lunchbox amps.

Some do. Soldano Astro, and I think the Revv D and G20, right? 6V6’s aren’t as plentiful as EL84’s, so that could factor in.

ENGL users - can anyone tell me whether the master volume on these amps (particularly the FB100) is before or after the FX loop?

On top of that (and I know this is a hyper specific question) but is there any weird FX loop discrepancies that occur post loop from one channel to another? (I also realize this question might not be clear enough either for my use case )

Before. And no.

[Edit: I meant the loop is before the MV]

From my experience with the FB25 the master volume is after, and I haven’t had any issues with the loop on any channel using both analog pedals and modelers. Only thing missing is a volume control for the Clean channel on the 25, because you’re gonna want to crank it!

No idea. I do know you have some quirky requirements that will allow you to run loops,
or make it a nightmare of incompatibility.

:idk

My Thunder worked pretty flawlessly with my looper setup, assuming most ENGLs share a common master/fx loop design likely not an issue

I think I dodged buying an FB100..... today at least..... I came very close but bought some pedals instead to soothe the itch :nails

But I also got to thinking if I'm gonna drop a lot of cash on an ENGL I should probably think more and get what I -really- would want and thats a Savage

Whew! You got lucky.

The FB blows..... for me.... I ditched that amp so fast. It's like a big ass clean signal cake in the low-end with a bunch
of top end distortion and preamp sizzle icing on top. It just felt like the low end and top end were completely
disconnected.
