All NDSP Plugins at 50% discount (until May, 7th)

did you try the low input and toggle the MVC push pull (diode clipping)? Cranking the master to 10, diode clipping off, and using the low input can be quite cool. It is a bit of a one trick pony but I think it’s the best high gain jose style plugin out there.
I tried it but didn't really like the pull feature even with volume compensated. Didn't try the low input so need to give that a try.

Cali is similar in concept but with so many switches it’s easy to make it sound bad. It really helps to know what each of the switches do and what kind of results to expect from it
Yeah I followed what I learned from the Synergy Killer Cali videos so that helped, but the lack of any labeling on the switches really sucks.

Bought the Tone King Imperial and the Fortin Nameless.

So far I'm stuck on enjoying the Imperial, so haven't given the Nameless a serious run yet. But damn, the Imperial is great!

@MirrorProfiles that low input on the Nameless was a good one, I like that a lot.

I still don't like the pull gain, it needs like +10 dB extra volume, and even then I don't like it as much as using without it.

Took the Soldano X for a spin as well and it's alright.

Still nothing that I felt worth buying though. The cab sims on these are annoyingly limited - lots of mics but no speaker options. I liked the plugins better when I used my favorite IR mixes from MIKKO 2 instead.

Wish they'd allow separate cab purchases for the MIKKO2. That price is a hard pill to swallow all at once.

They had that sort of model for MIKKO 1. I guess they figured it's a better business model to have people pay more for one bundle. It does go on 50% off sales at times.

My main beef with it is the lack of smaller cab options, but it's got a ton for 4x12s.

I have quite a few of the MIKKO 1 ones but missed buying the Bogner one & they won't sell it to me now that MIKKO2 is out.. :hmm

Neural Plugins I don’t have

- Rabbea
- Tone King Imperial
- Morgan Suite
- Parallax
- Mayer
- Misha

Just grabbed Morello. 2205 model for €30 or so is a no brainer. I’ll take the FX too. Can’t really get myself worked up enough about the others, a little curious about Morgan but I feel like I’m so well covered for those sounds. Same goes for Misha and Rabbea really.

For anyone who doesn’t have NTS and digs high gain, it’s a must buy at the sale price.

These videos are awesome, but Shea basically confirms the Satan (and Randall Thrasher and the Larry designs) are all derived from the Marshall SL-X. Makes a ton of sense when you think about the gain controls and how the circuit lends itself to a lot of gain.

I was just contemplating the NTS since I haven’t checked it out. Thanks for the tip!

Those are what I have. I'm considering adding Misha, Rabea, and maybe Petrucci.

Think you might enjoy Asato (Lone Star and Bogner Shiva, and a very cool tape delay). Henson is rad too (2204 and matchless). I like Petrucci more than their IIC+. Misha and Rabbea seem more about the fx which is a bit less appealing to me
I would consider it, but really I'm interested more in the ones that are going to be PCOM compatible soon, because that's main place I use the NDSP stuff atm.

I already have quite a few:

I might add the Fortin NTS (it’s hard to pass up at that sale price), and perhaps the Gojira and/or the Cali and/or the IIC+, but I’m honestly a bit concerned about redundancy at this point.

Cali is a bit like a very expanded Nameless - it’s a Jose modded Marshall at its heart but the switches let you reconfigure the amp pretty drastically. It’s great if you like amps with a LOT of customisation but it’s easy to make it sound bad/weird.

NTS is a modded SLX - lots of gain. You can adjust the character of the gain quite a lot with the 3 gain controls. Kill switch adds even more. Naturally amp is voiced somewhat dark, but the presence can be powerful if you want a more open sound. Stock IR’s aren’t great so be sure to use your own favourites.

IIC+ is great if you want the experience of that amp. Tonally I prefer Petrucci a bit but IIC+ is a bit nicer to work with (as a traditional amp guy and not interested in DT/JP tones). The cab IR’s in IIC+ are pretty solid, much better than the Petrucci ones.

Gojira is kind of a must have…. Fender Twin and Blue and Red EVH 5150S EL34 channels. I find the EVH amps a little bland but this one is the one I use above all others for that sound. Great cabs included and I love all the fx here - RAT, octave, pitch stuff etc. Solid all round package and it’ll basically always work in a mix.

Thanks, @MirrorProfiles — much appreciated!

Regarding the Cali: Yeah, that sounds familiar based on my experience with my Synergy Killer Kali module. Easy to f**k up, but great tones when dialed in right. Having it as a plugin as well is tempting.

NTS: As you stated earlier, it’s probably a no-brainer at the sale price.

IIC+: I’m not really chasing DT/JP tones, but I chose the Petrucci over the IIC+ last time around. I’d be interested in having both.

Gojira: Well, if it’s kind of a must-have, then I must have it, mustn’t I?
