AD Input SNR 111db -vs- AD Input SNR 114db .... differences in reality ?

Looking at a new portable Audio Interface.

As my "benchmark" I looked at the specs of my FM3 - which I consider feels and responds great etc..... its AD SNR is 114 db.

The audio interface I am looking at has an AD SNR of 111db

My Question

=> how - if at all - does this "extra" 3db of AD Input SNR impact the tone / noise / dynamics of the incoming guitar signal ?

=> at these [relatively higher] levels of AD Input SNR [111db -vs 114db] is the "more sound relative to less noise" realistically discernable ?

i think itd make more of a difference if you were running your preamps full throttle, but most interfaces with chip amps seldom need that. MAYBE with a ribbon mic or an sm7- but if youre using stuff like that, you can circumvent it with a cloudlifter and or a meatier preamp to get your signal up. at this point in recording, for most effective purposes, snr and dynamic range specs seem hysterical considering there's so little noise in the first place being generated digitally. im sure some will disagree, but i came up in the tape era, and i suspect youd be fine either way.

It won’t matter - The guitar noise floor will dominate here by quite a lot.

You’re worrying about the wrong things. Focus on what you are trying to achieve and worry less about technical footnotes that almost certainly not going to be a source of problems for you.

Way better to just tackle the low hanging fruit as much as possible, chasing the last few % isn’t going to matter without a lot of other things being taken care of.
