EMGs are what I've used. They were my main stage pickups for a number of years. The S is my favorite. Ultra clear and punchy.
Still have sets of the S, SA (Gilmour), SAV, 81/85 combo, but have them out of my guitars for the time being. I use passives exclusively now, but thinking of wiring up a set of EMGs again.
