A good solid state amp in 1993 was about $450. Would you pay $999 for a great one today?

Would you pay $900-$999 for a really good solid state amp?

  • Yes, if it were well made and sounded great, I’d plunk down $999 for one

I know this is an old thread but, I have an old BC-60/310 BluesCube combo. Well, the speaker cab cracked bad from a drop years ago so it's a head now. That thing sounds very good, the best ss amp I've ever used.

I'd get an Orange Super Crush 100 if I needed a solid state amp. They cost £410.

Might be like a Marshall thing were the US prices are nuts.
It’s 550€ incl VAT in Germany.

Just as a 2525H is like 800 incl Vat here

In general since it’s the same power amp as the pedal baby I prolly just get one of those old Hughes and Kettner halfback one waters like the Metal Shredder.

If it's a Orange then maybe. Even the smaller Orange Crush variants sound decent.

When it comes to Tube amps Orange isn't my first preference, but I really like the SuperCrush, it's odd.
