Did some reamps last night. Going for a tight but aggressive tone, very bright and cutting. Some amps do it better than others, that's for sure.

With and without drums. Curious what people think.

EDIT: sorry, link fixed!

As soon as closing arguments are done for Kouri Richins I will check it out!

I started watching this trial while sick and now I have to see her go to jail.

All sounds would work well for me. I found the boosted Recto the best. Can’t explain it well but I did not liked stadium versions at all. Something not working for me in lower mids/low departments.

Good stuff, man! My favorites - just because they had the most definition a palm-muted riff like this needs - were (in no particular order):
  • Stadium Revv Red (brighter),
  • VM410HJS
  • Sig:X
  • Boosted Recto.

I liked the JVM410 the most, followed by boosted Recto.

I get tempted to buy a JVM way too often considering they go for like 700-800 euros used. I just know it'll look dumb on top of my 4x10 because it's not wide enough.

Not to make this about digital units but I know we often say the Stadium is dark but the fractal is definitely darker imo in these examples. Any thoughts on that?

Ya I actually thought the Revv Red Bright was decently close to the JVM in terms of “cut”

Thanks guys!

I should say, everything uses the same DI's. A little loose in places, but I just wanted to get the riff down. Then out my Stadium via SPDIF, into the amps, then back into Stadium and into the same impulse. So everything uses the same IR I made of my Egnater 4x12 cab; v30 loaded.

My favourites in no particular order are:
Fryette Sig: X
6505+
Laney VH100R (6L6)
Marshall JVM410HJS
Mesa Mark Five
Mesa Dual Recto Boosted

I didn't really like the Axe FX III Revv Red. I didn't really like the Stadium Revv Red, until I cranked the presence and treble to 10; which is what I did in the clip. Now quite honestly, I've never had to do that on a real amp... so I don't know what the hell is going on with Agoura.

I didn't like any of the Diezel's pretty much. Which is ... something of a change. "Once was a time where Diezel's meant more to me than crowns or jewels....." Thulsa Doom, probably.

If I had to pick one, I'd go Fryette Sig: X.

All I can say is, I set the knobs on both the Axe3 and Stadium to where you'd set them on a real amp, and both turned out darker. I didn't mess with speaker impedance curve stuff on the Axe3, didn't touch any deep parameters, didn't do anything that you wouldn't do with a real amp.

I'm not loving modelling at the moment to be honest!
