Why did Ernie ball stop making the mm90 guitars?

Didn't sell enough, I guess. They are cool though. I like the Albert Less they did as well.

I think its more that no one bought them at the asking prices which I think were pretty high compared to other similar options.

probably because a) its minimalist cool, and guitarists run either antique bland or maximalist ugly, b) because p90s are awesome but noisy, c) because it wasnt designed in 1949.
im in full support of that things existence, though its not my cup o tea. id play it over a lot if things just for the pickup configuration.. i love p90s!

EBMM seemed to go through a big shift towards rock/metal guitarists after Petrucci started using them.
My guess would be that more interest from the rock/metal crowd, plus the association of the Axis with EVH, meant more players looking at EBMM guitars were looking for humbuckers and P90s were seen as the less desirable option.
