Whats your "logo on the headstock matters" brand?

Might not apply to everyone, for some it might apply to multiple brands, for others it might not matter because the logo is the same.

For me, its ESP. And particularly the block script ESP with gold drop shadow. I know, im mental.

Also, to a lesser extent I would only buy MIJ ibanez with the old school tick/slash under the Ibanez, like on the genesis series, which means my selection on ibanez is very limited.

I think its because im old now and experiencing nostalgia or something.

It might be the late gen x/xennial equivalent of whatever people who only like Gibson Les Pauls an NMV marshalls have.

Gibson Korina Explorer 6K, Hamer Korina Explorer 5K, Epiphone 1K, probably very comparable quality.
Still, it would have to be the US Hamer or Gibson ... for me.

The only ways the name on the headstock matters to me is for brands I choose not to do business with and maybe the consideration of resale value for something I am not sure I will keep (very rare).

I get it. I don't like the ESP E-II logo at all. Just put the ESP name on the headstock. Or at least call it something else. WTF is "E-II"? Did we ever have "E-I"? Does the II mean it's "second tier stuff compared to the real ESP"?

Schecter is another. They have a nice script logo they use on their more old school models, but then an ugly blocky logo they use for some models, and an even worse gothic logo they use on the "metal" guitars.

James Tyler is the only "I won't buy it because of the headstock" guitar brand for me, the others are more like "Ugh, I wish this was better".

I actually find this one super interesting, because when it comes to gibson designs, people invested in them are super "GIBSON!", except when it comes to Hamer. They're the one company that gets a pass, and, I mean, I know why.

Agreed, I used to be big into ESP but once they started the whole E-II tomfoolery and subsequent nonsense I kind of lost all interest in the brand

Gibson, for me, and that is strange, because I don't own one, and I own a Greco LP Custom, and have no problem with it, but I won't buy an Epiphone, simply because of the name.

So shallow.

A Strat definitely wins a few extra points for me just by virtue of having the Fender logo on the (properly shaped) headstock. I mean, I'm not going to play a shitty Fender over a better alternative, but all things being equal, I'm more likely to buy and play the Fender.

Just a Strat thing; with shredders etc. I'll play anything as long as it works right.
