What's the best super-cheap option for a basic clean amp tone?

I got the Quilter Phantom Block yesterday and I'm impressed with it. It sounds... like a Quilter. Great clean sound and you can add a bit of hair to it. It has much better clarity and feel than I expected from a simple analog device, and the cab sim is decent enough. It's a solid convincing clean to clean-ish electric guitar tone. Also works great with pedals. As expected it sounds terrible when you push the gain up too high. It clips and distorts like a solid state amp, not good. But it seems like a great base to use with preamps in front.

It might become my new "amp" stand-in for small pedalboards when I want to go direct.
