Ford Ranger. I only have one so it has :sofa to be my fave.

:crazy

For me, favourite is always dependent on what style of music I am going for, and
the guitar it is in. Have tried some pickups in one guitar that led to Meh and in
another led to Wow. :idk

I also used to swap pickups around like a Madman, and then it dawned on me that
my skillz (or lack thereof!) didn't always justify the effort of doing so, so now I tend to
ride with stock pickups and call it a day.

Off the top of my head --

Dimarzio:
Steve's Special (favorite)
Cruiser (favorite)
PAF Pro
AT-1
FRED
EJ neck
Humbucker From Hell
Super Distortion
Super Distortion S
Area T neck and hot bridge set
Area 58's
PG13 set

Seymour:
Parallel Axis Stack
Parallel Axis Original
'59 bridge
Lil' '59

EMG:
81
85
S
SA
SAV

Mojotone:
'67 Quiet Coil set

Various pickups from Gotoh, Ibanez, and others.

Dimarzios are usually my go to.

I'm not much on PU swaps, but I really liked the SD JB for my LPC. Seems like it's a pretty common PU in that application.

But until I got my Majesty, I had never experienced a set of PU's (DiMarzio Dreamcatcher bridge; Rainmaker neck) that had the most beautiful bloom and over-the-top harmonic content as these. The notes jump out, and even without acoustic coupling (i.e., with headphones), they morph into those upper harmonics so nicely! Even the neck PU does it. I LOVE that kind of tone!

This is what’s in my guitars now:

Strat: DiMarzio HS-3/HS-4
Tele: EMG T set
LP: ‘61 Burstbuckers

I’ve always loved the DiMarzio HS pickups and the EMGs are one of my all time favorite Tele pickups.

I’m not crazy about the ‘61 Burstbuckers but I’ve got them sounding decent enough for now. On the fence about replacing.

I really love a SD Jazz in the neck of a LP

Ron Ellis in my custom S-type, and a current tele build

PRS 57/08 … they are ok … had em for 7 years and wonder what some Lollars might do

EMG J series in a Pipedream Fretworks Chopsix under construction

Lindy Fralin P-90 in my Godin CT classic
EMG 81/60 in my LTD EC-1000 Deluxe
SD Hotrails bridge Pup in my Charvel DK22 ProMod
Stock Pickups in my Revstar RSS20 (soon to be changed, ordered a Tonerider Birmingham Bridge & AlNiCo II Classic Neck)

SD JB
SD Custom
SD Custom 5
SD Full Shred
EMG 81/85
498T
Classic 57
V-Mod Telecaster

The JB and Custom are close enough to each other to me that I'm happy with either. Custom 5 can be cool in some guitars, its a bit more scooped in nature. For my own needs, I think I could be happy with either a Custom of JB in basically any guitar.

Man I’ve had so many pickups.

For humbuckers I’ve had off the top of my head:
Bare Knuckle Mule
Dimarzio 36th paf
Dimarzio paf master
Duncan Seth Lover
Duncan Slash
Duncan Saturday night special
Duncan JB/jazz
Duncan 59 Custom Hybrid
Duncan A2 Pro
Friedman Classic
Lollar Imperial
Suhr Thornbucker and Plus
Suhr SSV
Suhr Aldrich
Tonerider Alnico Classic
Tonerider Rocksong
Wolfetone Dr Vintage
Wolfetone Marshallhead

For Strats:
Dimarzio Area 58, 61, 67
Dimarzio injectors
Dimarzio virtual solo
Dimarzio chopper
Dimarzio pro track
Fender 57/62
Fender Tex Mex
Fender hot noiseless
Fender ultra noiseless
Fralin Vintage Hot
K Line 64
Mojotone quiet coils
Suhr V60LP
Suhr V63
Suhr ML
Tonerider A2 blues
Zexcoils

For Tele:
Dimarzio Area T Hot, 615
Dimarzio chopper t
Fender Texas special
Fender broadcaster, twisted tele
Fender ultra noiseless
Fralin blues special
K-line signature
Suhr Classic T

And probably way more I’ve forgotten.

Generally I think Suhr pickups are my favorite. They are good quality, great dynamics, great clarity, and not insanely priced. Right now I have SSVs, Thornbuckers, Classic T, and V60LP in different guitars.

Dimarzio are good value pickups for being American made with good variety. Interesting noiseless options although they can neuter the split tones. Would be happy with them for sure.

Tonerider are great value pickups although prices are creeping up. Used to get a set for $100 or less brand new. Good build quality and easy to recommend for budget stuff.

Duncan are also quite good but prices keep rising and the humbuckers often aren’t tuned to my liking. Very good pickups but haven’t found them to be killers.

Also currently have Wolfetone and K Line pickups in a couple guitars. Those are very good boutique pickups for affordable prices. Excellent quality especially K Line stuff which is right up with Lollar.

Wow! This post is precisely why I am not willing to be totally thorough and take the time you did. :rofl

Still have a fairly decent stash, and like to look at used pickups. Even bought a few in the past week
or two. Just happy with what I have in guitars right now, and honestly got tired of the analyzing, and
weary of the "tone is in the pickup rat race." :idk

Best I could find within my Budget and rarely get any negative reviews
Just bought a set for $135 CDN so really that's pretty damn cheap

Really good pickups. Great if you take into account the price. Look forward to
what you think of them.
