What is your solution for stripped screw holes on pickups with paper/fiber base?

Fender Custom Shop Fat'50. Both holes are stripped.

I have tried gluing a nut at the base with a tiny dot of super-glue, and also inserting a small piece of paper in the hole. But solutions have failed. Any suggestion?

Now I have to dismount the pickguard again. Did I ever say how much I hate vintage parts?

I've cut little squares out of a coca cola can before to put on the tabs and then screwed through those

Ultra ghetto but it worked for me lmao

You can mix some fibre shavings with epoxy and add it to the hole redrill and start again but you will probably need to cut the thread of its prone to strip again.

Thank you for the replies.

I have finally fixed it by first applying a ultra-thin layer of super glue (to avoid spilling it to the nut's thread), let it dry, and then apply a second round of super-glue.

ps.: these six grooves at the bottom of the pickguard are the old paths for the six wires of the Ghost Piezo Saddles that were there long time ago. :D

I have used nylon fishing line, looped repeatedly through the stripped hole, sealed with a drop off super glue.

Good luck!

Another good option is baking soda. you can put a piece of tape on one side then fill with baking soda, drop in superglue until it's completely saturated and that's pretty much it. Dries way faster and hard as a rock. This isn't like the best option or anything but it's saved me with various projects around the house

Cotton wool is even better on a fibre baseplate.
