What is Up With Recording Through Pickles ?

Man, I’d LOVE to record something with her. Nothing planned, just show up and write something on the spot and let her do her thing, I’ll go along with all of it. Probably unlikely we can shoot pianos in an LA parking garage with shotguns in 2026, though.

I was thinking the same thing. Would love to go through that Neve board and all her collection of analog gear, oh and Mic selection.
I am afraid I am not the caliber of guitarist she records. lol

I get doing unexpected things and experimenting but only if the song or situation is desperately calling for it. I’d hate to be working with someone on music that is trying to communicate something delicate and specific and I’m forcing my own silliness into it.

It’s healthy to approach music with a free/open attitude though, and I think if doing this kind of thing opens people up then it has its place. I’d just hate to do this kind of thing as a predictable manner of course.

i dunno that shed be insane. silly, absolutely- but i mean.. its also the melvins. we're not talking the worlds most serious people. i mean, listen to their records.

theres gotta be room for silly shit or none of its worthwhile.

It's interesting. I think the main thing here is to be spontaneous and be open to new things in a studio environment, when it's called for. Usually the coolest stuff comes out this way.
