What is 'Chuck'?

Leaving any subjective commentary out, I did think this looked like it might be similar to the Cerberus at a glance which I honestly considered picking up because it had the analog drive/distortion and it seemed like TONEX Pedal or ONE could be used via 4CM with it (or at least the routing would allow for TONEX as amp and maybe throw in a ONE for additional stomps). Tubes here are interesting, but I really was hoping for analog OD/Dist or similar not just tubes for the preamp portion. Maybe I will try the Cerberus someday since this reminded me of its existence.

Just my observation, best of luck to them with this unit.

For starters: This thing is a nightmare to edit on the unit. It's easy (as there's very little stuff to be edited) but incredibly time consuming. No way to see the entire tonestack at once, you need to click through the individual parameters. Same for anything else you want to edit. And while I love endless encoders with readouts, it doesn't help if there's no sufficient amount of them and in case the mapping/layout is done so badly.

Then, there's no EXP input. I mean, WTF? They do offer an internal wah and a volume pedal thing internally, but the only way you can access those is via MIDI. Good luck finding a decently priced MIDI expression pedal. And all that while pretty decent vanilla EXP pedals can be had for as little as 20 bucks.

The amount of FX is extremely limited, too. Apart from the wah, you get chorus, delay and reverb. That was it. No stomp boxes, either.

20W isn't exactly what I'd call a powerful amp, either. Just get a Mooer Baby Bomb and you're there.

And fwiw, just to make that clear: The thing isn't made in Germany, it's built in China. And yet, they're asking €1649 for it.

Add to this that I haven't heard a single sound that I couldn't get out of pretty much anything else. Yes, there's some driven sounds that seem to be nicely dynamic, but that was it.

As said, this is an epic fail.

Don't know anything about this or the creator ..... and good luck to them as I think they are going to need it ..... but it strikes me as being a classic example of "passion projects" rarely ever making sense even if you or someone else has the $$ to sink into it.

Still, its out before the Amp X so thats something I guess ;)

Maybe. But they just could've asked some experienced players. The ones apparently involved prior to release (after that they apparently asked a handful of decent players to do presentations) are merely clueless amateur hacks or one trick pony metal players. I've been watching this for a while as they pretty much aggressively spammed largely german guitar circles on FB, and everything just screams "meh" - and that's put very politely.

Here's a little ad of them trying to prove the thing is capable of playing blues as well (you can possibly only see it when logged in at FB):

That's just downright horrible on all aspects. Embarrassingly bad sound, guitar not tuned properly, played as poorly as it gets.
Remember: This is made to promote a €1649 product, not some pedal for 20 bucks.

Ok .... that has to be a joke .... surely ? that's not too far from the sound and tone I would get when I used to plug my guitar directly into my Tascam 244 back in the day :(

Who the a.f do they think is going to buy this thing ?

No, they're serious with all that. They just don't know better and apparently thought all they needed was some metal chugging, sticking some "tubes inside" badges onto it and that thing would sell like hotcakes.
Seriously, there's everything wrong with that device. It's super limited soundwise and - even more important - technically. I mean, you can possibly come up with a new downloadable firmware, but you can't download an EXP input or at least 2 more encoders.
As if coming up with a 1649 bucks unit featuring just chorus, delay and reverb as FX wouldn't be enough of an adventure already.

This is when marketing supersedes design.

That ranks as maybe the worst combination of tone and production all time. Good grief that’s bad!
