I have been playing my "Subway Strat" all weekend. I found it abandoned at a subway station in Boston 20 years ago. It was a tuxedo SSS when I found it and has obviously been through many upgrades. It has slowly become my No. 1

What pickups , love that setup.

changed it over to mccarty drop in electronics, and it has thornbuckers in it, a plus in the bridge

yes. it's chambered from the back, with an 1/8" mahogany cap for the back. it's mccarty dc 594 thickness with a very minimal belly carve.

they stopped offering the option somewhere in the late 2000's when they changed over to making f hole semis. you'll see this on some 10th anniversarys and artist models from the 90's
