Lovely guitars! This is the brown section of the collection...?
"Tobacco Sunburst" section to be more accurate.Lovely guitars! This is the brown section of the collection...?![]()
Of course! I just knew 'brown' wasn't the right word!"Tobacco Sunburst" section to be more accurate.![]()
I know. I got this when the 594 was only available as a private stock guitar. It was listed as "B-stock" due to a tiny blemish on its back.dude

I low-balled them with a 40% discount expecting them to decline, but they accepted. A little bit of delicate buffing, and the "blemish" is no longer visible and I saved almost $5000.
Buying a new guitar as an "investment" is a pipedream. I believe that only 2 of the guitars in my collection are worth more now than when I purchased them (PRS Reclaimed Vela Semi-hollow & Steinberger GM7TA), and I play the $#!+ out of them.Gotta love the depreciation of cores on the second hand market!!![]()

That’s a heavy relic for a private stock.I know. I got this when the 594 was only available as a private stock guitar. It was listed as "B-stock" due to a tiny blemish on its back.

It really depends on what you are buying and how you take care of it. Gibson guitars tend to do pretty well at holding their value. I have seen some Fender guitars do decent. Some PRS guitars have done pretty well. It also depends on how long you hold on to them.Buying a new guitar as an "investment" is a pipedream.
